ABOUT

“HEY! I’M DILLON. NICE TO MEET YOU”

Learn a bit more about me and why I love what I do...

My passion for photography started back in 2016. Landscape photography is what really peaked my interests. I would take my camera with me everywhere, looking for the most epic sunsets/sunrises. I enjoyed every part of it but I didn't really have the first clue how to use my camera to its capacity. So I decided I wanted to learn more and in 2017 I earned my level 5 diploma in digital photography.

I shot my first wedding at the end of 2017 and as nerve wracking as it was, I loved it! Since then I have photographed 50+ weddings, sneaking away in the offseason for some landscape goodness. In July 2022, I decided I would become a full-time wedding photographer as this is what I am truly passionate about. The satisfaction I get from being able to create life long memories for my couples is what keeps me motivated and keeps my passion alive!

I have two beautiful children, they are a huge factor in why I do what I do. To be able to work a "job" and provide for them doing what I love, there is no better feeling. I spent my fair share of time working the classic 9-5 but I knew deep down this is what I wanted to be doing. I feel very grateful and fortunate to be in this position, making dreams become a reality!

A few fun facts about me...

  • I worked in electronic retail sales for 10+ years, selling everything from TVs to laptops to fridges & washing machines. Finding the most enjoyment in helping people choose the best camera for their needs.

  • I boarded at Wairarapa College during my high school years and loved every second of it!

  • I'm a pretty good juggler, if you ask nicely I might show you!

  • I'm a huge music lover, I enjoy all genres but you'll typically hear me listening to some hip-hop/rap/RnB bangers!

  • I have travelled to a few countries. U.S.A (Hawaii), Fiji and Austrailia. Japan facinates me though, and would love to go there one day.

  • Spiders scare the s**t out of me! Daddy long legs-fine, jumping spiders-fine. Anything else, especially big ones, noooooo thanks!
